Nightfall
The evening, arriving.
Crisp apple and lavender at the opening, then it turns: vanilla, cardamom and pepper over sandalwood and guaiac. Fresh for the first hour, warm for the rest of the night.
Why Nightfall?
Because that is the shape of it: the last of the daylight still at the edges, and something darker and warmer taking over. It is the hour a scent starts to be noticed, and the one it is remembered from.
Accord: Apple · Lavender · Vanilla
Season: Autumn and winter
When to wear it
Evenings from October to March, and any night out. Easy enough for dinner, warm enough for the cold.
Spiced orientals need thirty to forty-five days of maceration before they are worth wearing — and this one gets every day of it.
Inspired by Parfums de Marly Layton.
